Almost nobody has asked what young Christians in India actually believe. So we are.
What we believe, what we wrestle with, and how ready we feel to talk about it.

Sometimes young people walk away from faith.
Not because theyLost an argument
They drift.
Because they had honest questions, and nowhere safe to take them.
So we went looking for research on what young Christians in India believe, what they doubt, and how equipped they feel to explain it.
We decided to gather it ourselves: one anonymous, ten-minute survey for young Christians from India.
We don’t want young people walking away from faith. Not because they were argued out of it, but because they had honest questions and nowhere safe to take them.
Too many believers go quiet exactly when they most want to speak, because a friend or colleague asked something hard and the preparation wasn’t there.
We want to build teaching that answers the questions our young people are actually asking here, rather than importing Western material written for a different set of questions.
We are not publishing the running order while the survey is still open, because seeing it would change the answers people give. Until it closes, these bars will not sit still.
Almost every question is multiple choice. “I’m not sure” is a real option throughout, and a useful answer. The sensitive questions are optional.
This survey asks what you really believe, what you doubt, and what you have never felt able to say out loud at church. That only works if you are safe. So, plainly:
Two friends working on this independently, one in Dubai and one in Pune. We are not a denomination, an institution, or a funded body. The Logia Initiative exists to equip young Christian leaders across India to give a reasoned defence of their faith, with gentleness and respect, and to train others to do the same.
This survey is the first piece of that work. Everything we build afterwards should answer the questions this data actually surfaces.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
Answer→απολογίαapologia · a defence
Reason→λόγοςlogos · a reason, a word
Logia. Two words, one name: the reason we hold, and the readiness to give it.
“But do this with gentleness and respect.” (1 Peter 3:15, NIV)
For this to represent the church in India, we need voices from every part of the country, not only the places we happen to know people. Twelve states and union territories have not sent a single response yet, and eight more have sent only one or two. If you lead a youth group, a cell group, or a congregation in one of them, you are very nearly the only person who can change that. We will send you a summary of what we find.
Young Christians from India, whether you live in India or anywhere else in the world, from any denomination or church background. It is aimed at ages 15 to 35, but if you are outside that range your answers are still welcome.
Yes. You are never asked your name and you do not sign in to anything, so we cannot tell who sent which answers. At the end you can choose to leave an email for future surveys; if you do, it is stored separately from your answers.
About 10 minutes. There are 48 questions and almost all of them are tap-to-answer. A few sensitive questions are optional, so you can skip anything you would rather not answer.
That is exactly why we are asking. There are no right or wrong answers, nothing is being tested, and many questions include an honest “I’m not sure” option. An honest answer is far more useful to us than a “correct” one.
Two friends, Abel in Dubai and Kenneth in Pune, working independently as the Logia Initiative. We are not a denomination, an institution or a funded body, and the survey is not run by or for any single church.
We publish totals and patterns, never one person’s answers, so that anyone serving young Christians in India can use them. The results will also shape what we build next: training that helps young Christian leaders give a reasoned, gentle answer for their faith.
It comes from 1 Peter 3:15, which tells us to always be ready to give a defence (apologia) to anyone who asks for a reason (logos) for the hope that is in us. Logia sits between those two words: the reason we hold, and the readiness to give it.
Please do. The more places and backgrounds the answers come from, the truer the picture. Send the survey link on WhatsApp or share this page. Each person should fill it in on their own, so their answers stay private.
Write to Kenneth at Kennethshalom@thelogiainitiative.online. Please don’t send your survey answers by email; the form keeps them anonymous.
